Using Your Internet Marketing Strategies To Help Offline Businesses
As internet business owners, we are always looking for new ways to use our skills to earn additional income. If you are operating in a particular niche, it can be difficult to figure out how to branch out into a new area. If you operate any kind of marketing business online, you have the skills that are desperately needed by business owners in your community. So my idea is this, why not use your internet marketing strategies to help businesses that do not have an online presence.
Take a look around your community and you will see businesses with little or no internet presence are closing their doors, for good. Some of these mom and pop operations may have been able to stay in business if they had some kind of internet marketing knowledge.
For some of you older business owners, you will recall when the yellow pages were how you looked for a business. Remember the old ad slogan; let your fingers do the walking. Today when we need to find a business we use the internet, I couldn’t even tell you where my phone book is. Today in the computer age, there are still businesses out there who are not taking advantage of the resources available to them. This omission could be costing them thousands maybe even millions of dollars in revenue.
Here is an example of what I am talking about. Let’s say that we want to find a business that sells guitars in our area. How do we find it, most of the time we pull up Google on our computer and let them find it for us. There could be several businesses in the area that sell guitars but maybe only 75% of them have an internet presence. So which businesses are going to get the traffic to their doors? The ones that have decided to use the internet as a business tool.
For a fee, you can help the business owner who does not do any online marketing by showing them the benefits and potential customer base they could build. Use your knowledge of operating a marketing business online to get these people going in the right direction. You will be doing a great service to the business owner, yourself and your community by possibly keeping another business from closing their doors.
The next possible way you can use your skills is to assist those business owners that have a website but could use some professional marketing touches. Some websites I have seen for local business owners are so cluttered, have broken links and other problems. They have me hitting the back button as quickly as I entered their site.
You can turn a profit by cleaning up their websites and making sure that they have the proper search engine optimization. A lot of these businesses probably don’t have the proper meta tags needed for a business website.
Another idea to help these businesses that have a web presence is to set up a lead capture page for them. Just because most of their marketing is done off line, it doesn’t mean that a list of potential clients is not as important as it is to you and I. You can create a lead capture page and an e-mail follow up campaign to earn some additional income for yourself.
I hope this article has made you realize that your internet marketing strategies are a highly sought after skill. You can use these skills to assist your local businesses and add a little cash to your savings. One final thing to think about is the local business owner is probably a very busy person who would gratefully pay you for your skills and services in order to get more buyers into his/her store.
